Design Systems for Three Sites from the Ground Up
Collaborating with a UX designer, I built out the foundational UX for three high-performing e-commerce sites: DiamondNexus.com, 12Fifteen.com and ForeverArtisans.com. For all three I started from the ground up, gathering different style iterations and consolidating them into consistent design components with unified underlying code. I coordinated work from all of our designers to ensure quality, consistency and adherence to our design system. Because of the reusable componenets, any site-wide changes could be made quickly.
After establishing new UI elements, I designed code components with custom Guttenburg blocks in Wordpress. As an example, the button component gave options for multiple colors, full width or not, swipe animation etc. I automatically adjusted them for mulitiple breakpoints. In Wordpress, any user could select these options in minutes versus in hours (as it had been in the previous site) and keep the style consistent throughout the site.
